MAL062 - Il-Minzel

Description

Il-Minżel is an artificially constructed reservoir, intended for irrigation and water storage, located in southern Malta within proximity to Iż-Żejtun. The borders of the reservoir have been constructed out of limestone blocks, and covers an area of approximately 1,050m2. The site is not accessible to the public as it is located behind a privately-owned household boundary wall . Since the site is predominantly surrounded by agricultural land, it is likely that the reservoir is used for irrigation purposes. No important community habitats or vegetation were noted to be present around the reservoir. The site is located in a Strategic Open Gap.
