MAL065 - Ta' Kalc 1

Description

Ta’ Kalc is a cluster of artificially constructed reservoirs, intended for irrigation and water storage, located in western Malta within Dingli. The reservoirs were constructed out of cement and cover an approximate area of 1,110m2. The site is accessible by the public through a dirt road. The reservoir is predominantly surrounded by agricultural land, with pipelines scattered throughout nearby fields, indicating that the reservoirs are likely being used for irrigation. A single Ceratonia siliqua is present growing within the basin of the eastern reservoir. This reservoir borders the Coastal Cliffs Area of Ecological Importance, Area of High Landscape Value and Special Area of Conservation – International Importance.
