MAL091 - Ta' Salvun

Description

Ta’ Salvun is an artificially constructed reservoir, intended for irrigation and water storage, located in southern Malta within Ħal Far. The reservoir is constructed out of limestone and covers an approximate area of 1,800m2. The site is not accessible to the public as it is behind a locked gate, on privately-owned land. The reservoir is predominantly surrounded by agricultural land, therefore, it is likely that the reservoir is being used to irrigate these fields. A couple of Eucalyptus camaldulensis were noted within the northern basin, and a single Ficus carica was noted to the west. The site is located in the Rural Hinterland as per local plan.
